  1. Gambling and social media

    January 8, 2012 by Andy

Social Media is one of those things that started out with limited scope and grew to be bigger than most could ever imagine. This is because people love to connect. In addition to connecting people love to play games, and Facebook is one social media outlet that offers so many games a person could literally spend too much time on them, and some people already do. Now, it seems that the social media giant is getting involved in the online casino game. Of course this only makes sense since people are already allowed to play any number of games, including slot machines, for Facebook credits.

Facebook will offer more gaming opportunities for real money in countries where online gambling is allowed. This will surely be a big hit with all of those who love to gamble and those who are merely just interested in the games. So, it would seem that instead of winning and spending Facebook credits at the Facebook slot machines, people will be able to win real money, as time goes on. Whether or not people will enjoy real gaming on Facebook remains to be seen. At least they are giving it a try to see how it all goes.

  2. Not taking it lightly

There are so many areas of our life today that seems to be shrinking and many countries are being overran by China in these areas. Most countries can clearly see that anything from industry to gambling is growing more and growing faster than any other area in the world in China. In fact, Macau has the most successful casino operations in the world. Maybe it is because this is the only place in China where gambling is legal or maybe there are other things happening but the best bet is that since this is the only place that it is allowed in China, their sales are the best in the world.

Today, when people want to play poker they can go to any casino in the world, or not. Most can just stay home to place their bets and millions do. It is going to be interesting to see what the future holds as far as online gaming and the future that it really has. Most feel that it will surpass the sales of even the biggest casino cities such as Mucau. It is a good bet, however the hope is that it will only enhance and not put all the major gambling cities out of business.

  3. Being careful with new rules

Anytime there is something new happening all the players come out, whether they are for the issue or against it. The public is generally inundated with ideas and theories of what will actually take place. The American Department of Justice’s (DOJ) decision to rule that the 1967 law banning wire betting does not include online gambling opens the door for online casino operators to try to get their share of the billions of dollars that is being spent every day.

This does not mean that online poker is a sure thing though. What is does mean is that congress needs to act to pass a bill that will allows states to do what some are basically going ahead with now. There are many political issues that might arise as a result of this. Inaction by congress could see online casinos opening only to be closed down by a future congress and administration.

The DOJ and their ruling, according to some, means nothing when it comes to interrupting law. Some claim that only the courts can decide that, or congress itself. It is easy to understand why no politician would want to deal with this issue right before an election but in order to prevent the more shady operations from taking root in the United States, it would seem that something would need to be done. 4. Online gaming in the USA gets open door

    December 26, 2011 by Andy

It looks like the first state to legalize online casino gambling in the United States is Nevada. This has been a long time coming and though only those who are in Nevada can wager, speculators feel that there may be a ripple effect and that online gambling will be allowed in other states as well.

It is all about politics but Nevada has just opened the door. This move is said to create jobs and bring in more money for the state that is one of the state most hurt by rising unemployment rates and the housing crisis.

Only time will tell if there will be other states that will follow suit but there are already states that are considering online gaming as a viable option. Since this vote was unanimous it makes one wonder if it might be in other states as well. (more…)
