It used to be that if you wanted to gamble you have to travel to the closest city, state, province, or even country that had casinos. There was simply no other way to do it. Back then (per 1994) there were people in countries who had never heard of playing games to win money.
Today, things are much different. Today, it doesn’t matter what part of the planet you live on because you will have the ability to gamble at a casino as long as the country you live in allows this type of wire transaction.
The times are changing fast and now people in the most remote parts of the world can wager and take part in just about anything they wish. Governments have simply seen the tax possibilities of casinos. Land-based casinos, that is, because online casinos are still banned in the US even though the government really could profit from all the tax. The Internet has changed things greatly and even though some countries don’t allow even the remote possibility of gaining access to the Internet there are those who manage it somehow.
