It used to be that if you wanted to gamble you have to travel to the closest city, state, province, or even country that had casinos. There was simply no other way to do it. Back then (per 1994) there were people in countries who had never heard of playing games to win money.
Today, things are much different. Today, it doesn’t matter what part of the planet you live on because you will have the ability to gamble at a casino as long as the country you live in allows this type of wire transaction.
The times are changing fast and now people in the most remote parts of the world can wager and take part in just about anything they wish. Governments have simply seen the tax possibilities of casinos. Land-based casinos, that is, because online casinos are still banned in the US even though the government really could profit from all the tax. The Internet has changed things greatly and even though some countries don’t allow even the remote possibility of gaining access to the Internet there are those who manage it somehow. Even countries that do allow some Internet access do allow for online gambling.
The simple fact of the matter is that the Internet has changed the way we do just about everything and the casino industry is profiting in great measures from it. Of course only time will tell how long this will last or how many countries will ban wagering online or even Internet access and Lord help us all if the latter happens. But for now, anyone who is of the appropriate age and lives in a legal country can gamble till their heart’s content with a simply click of the mouse.
it is amazing to me that even some impoverished countries allow online gambling but yet other countries that are more advanced do not.
the gambling industry is growing a lot because of the availability to wager online and this can only be good for economies everywhere.
